Dr Meiszner is a Doctoral Tutor and Doctoral Thesis Supervisor with the University of Liverpool’s DBA programme. He also is a Fellow and Senior Advisor with the European Learning Industry Group (ELIG) and an Affiliated Research Fellow with the United Nations University UNU-MERIT.
He is the co-founder and managing partner of SCIO (PT), a research, capacity building and consultancy company that specialises in knowledge, innovation and organisational projects in a number of fields across science, technology and sustainability.
Andreas has a track record as Principal Investigator in numerous research, training and capacity building projects within Europe and across the globe. He has been responsible for coordinating and overseeing the academic work of internal and external research teams from Europe, Africa, Asia and Latin America. He has also managed and implemented physical and virtual business and technology training programmes across Africa. He holds three higher education degrees in management from universities in France, Germany and The Netherlands, and majors in International Management and Human Resources and Organisational Management. He obtained his PhD in 2011 from The Open University for work carried out at its Institute of Educational Technologies with the title ‘The Emergence of Free / Open Courses - Lessons from the Open Source Movement’.
