Dr Yuri Demchenko is an experienced instructor, dissertation advisor, module manager and subject matter expert for postgraduate students studying online with the University of Liverpool.
Originally from Ukraine, he was awarded his PhD in Computer Science from the National Technical University of Ukraine (Kiev Polytechnic Institute) in the area of industry automation and measurements.
A recipient of the Microsoft MVP Azure Award in 2015, his research interests include Big Data and Data Intensive Technologies and Infrastructure, Cloud and Intercloud architecture, general security architectures and distributed access control infrastructure for Cloud-based services and data centric applications.
Yuri is currently involved in the European projects GEANT4, CYCLONE and EDISON, where he develops different elements of cloud based infrastructures for scientific research, including education and training programs and environments.
Having published more than 60 papers in the last 10 years, he is actively contributing to the standardisation activity at RDA, OGF, IETF, NIST on defining Big Data Architecture Frameworks, Intercloud architecture for complex infrastructure services provisioning in clouds.
He is on the organising committee for the annual IEEE International Conference and Workshops on Cloud Computing Technology and Science (CloudCom). Yuri is also a senior researcher at the University of Amsterdam.
