Dr Gray is a senior faculty member for the University of Liverpool’s Doctorate in Education – Higher Education (EdD). She is an Honorary Senior Lecturer, module tutor and thesis supervisor.
She gained her PhD at the University of Glasgow focusing on nursing education, an abiding research interest. She has also worked on mentoring and coaching, supervision, use of portfolios, inclusive assessment, belongingness, community of inquiry and grading.
Dr Gray was awarded an Emeritus Professorship by Edinburgh Napier University where she was Associate Dean of Academic Development. She now works as an academic research consultant. She is an invited member of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing, a member of the International Network for Doctoral Education in Nursing, a fellow of the Higher Education Academy and a member of the European Association of Distance Teaching Universities.
Dr Gray has published widely in the field of higher education. She has published over 50 articles in peer-reviewed journals and has written three textbooks, as well as several chapters in edited textbooks. She is a peer reviewer for a number of international journals.
