Dr Gail Miles has an MEd and EdS in Counselling, an MS in Computer Science and a PhD in Higher Education Administration from the University of Florida.

Since joining the University of Liverpool online programmes in 2000, she has held a number of roles, including instructor, dissertation advisor, faculty manager, critical reader, subject matter expert and mentor.

Gail is a Professor Emerita for Lenoir-Rhyne University in the United States, where she was the Department Chair or Coordinator of Computer Science for 25 years, teaching on a variety of courses in the undergraduate computer science and information technology programmes. She also is a contributing faculty member in the Doctor of Information Technology for Walden University in the United States.

Widely published in leading journals and conference papers, she was a board director of National Education Computer Association between 1991 and 2002.
