Since joining the team in 2009, Narayana Jayaram (Jay) held roles as instructor, subject matter expert and critical reader for online postgraduate students at the University of Liverpool.
He gained his undergraduate degree from the University of Mysore in India, followed by an MSc and PhD from the University of Cincinnati in the United States.
During his career, Jay has served as a lecturer, senior lecturer and head of computing at a number of UK universities, including the Open University. He has also been an external examiner for masters courses and PhD dissertations for the universities of Carlos III Madrid, Bournemouth and Anglia Ruskin, as well as for the Royal School of Signals and Ministry of Defence in the UK.
He was on the BCS accreditation panel for accrediting undergraduate and graduate courses in computing at UK universities and has been a member of the BCS professional examinations board since 2000.
Jay is regularly invited to serve on international conference programme committees and panels and has had scores of articles and conference papers published over the course of his career.
He currently works with the University of Hertfordshire on its distance learning masters programmes in computing. He has also been on the funding proposal review panels of the European Commission’s Framework 5, 6 , 7, as well as the Horizon 2020 research programmes, since 2000.
