Dr Vladimir Gubanov is an honorary lecturer, instructor, critical reader and subject matter expert for online IT programmes at the University of Liverpool.
He has a PhD in Computer Applications/Computer Science from Ural State Technical University of Russia and a Doctor of Sciences degree in Computer Applications - Science and Engineering from the Russian Academy of Sciences.
Vladimir has worked at higher education facilities across the United States, Russia and Europe, advising postgraduate and PhD students on computer research and dissertations. In 1995 he was awarded the State Prize of the Russian Federation for his outstanding contributions within the fields of science and technology, most notably for his work in computer applications and modelling of new and advanced materials.
He has published 17 books and 350 papers on computer modelling and applications, and presented more than 60 guest lectures, seminars and workshops.
Previously, Vladimir worked as Chief Information Officer at global financial services company VIF, managing information systems and software development.
