Professor Nikolay Dobrev is a Law Instructor, General Dissertation Instructor, and Dissertation Advisor for the University of Liverpool Online LL.M. in International Business Law Programme.
A PhD and LLM graduate of Columbia Law School in New York, he has delivered law classes for the University of Liverpool Online Programmes for more than eight years, as well at law and business schools in the UK and across Europe.
Professor Dobrev is a practising attorney-at-law with more than ten years of experience. He has previously worked in legal and compliance roles in international corporations and agencies such as Citibank North America, PriceWaterhouseCoopers, the US Agency for International Development and United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees. His areas of legal expertise include public international law, banking law, business law, EU law, competition law and World Trade Organization law. He is the author of numerous academic articles, monographs, and textbooks and was the Editor-in-Chief of prominent European journal of international law.
Professor Dobrev was awarded a Faculty Excellence Awards in 2018 for his outstanding performance as a tutor for the University of Liverpool Online Programmes and his exemplary contribution to the student experience.
