Dr Robert Freeborough has been teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate level for 10 years in both online and traditional classroom environments. His dissertation focused on transformational leadership and its correlation with employee engagement and organisational commitment. He believes that good leadership has a tremendous impact on whether employees and volunteers are engaged, love their jobs, and perform at their best. His research efforts now are focused on servant and transformational leadership in non-profit organisations with his most recent article in the Journal of Servant Leadership: Theory and Practice that shows a correlation between transformational leadership and employee engagement in non-profit organizations.

Robert has a PhD in Organisation and Management, a Masters of Business Administration with a specialisation in Entrepreneurism, and a BS in Civil Engineering. Before moving into education, he had a career in human resources and engineering. He is certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR). A trained civil engineer, he has also worked in designing topographical maps from satellite images. His 17 years of leadership and management experience, primarily in non-profits, have enabled him to run his own organisational development consulting business.
