Director of Studies for the Liverpool Online MBA, Lisa Day joined the University of Liverpool in 2016, continuing a career that spans both business and academia. A Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, she holds an MA in Learning and Teaching for Higher Education and an MBA from Cranfield University, UK. Her main research interest is ‘Strategy as Practice’. In January 2017, she submitted her doctoral thesis to the University of Bath, focusing on a Strategy as Practice approach to a study of strategic change.
Lisa joined the University from London Metropolitan University where she was a lecturer in Strategic Management for over 10 years. She started her career in management and strategy roles in the UK for Abbey National (now Santander), BT (formerly British Telecom) and Marks & Spencer.
Her publications include ‘Over the Top of the Hill: Sensemaking and the Role of Meetings in Sustaining Strategic Change’ (Day, L., Balogun, J. and Mayer, M., 2015), which won a Best Paper award at the Academy of Management.
