What attracted you to studying online with the University of Liverpool for this degree?
The programme offered a quality option for business professionals. The international design of the programme was attractive. I wanted to have the opportunity to interact with international students and learn more about the effects of growing mobile economies on consumers and businesses.
What were the highlights and challenges you faced while studying?
Highlights of the programme were the weekly inputs from the professors and my class peers; hearing their diverse outlooks and receiving their inputs on my outlook and perspectives.
The challenges were largely represented in time management, and fitting the required work load into a busy schedule. Having done both traditional and online studies, online studies were more rigorous for me.
What did you enjoy most about studying online with the University of Liverpool?
I loved the flexibility of being able to study anywhere, anytime. That is huge for a busy executive who carries a heavy travel schedule.
How did you fit online study into your life?
In practice, fitting in study required discipline in daily routine. My day started before work with 1-2 hours of study at home, then an additional 1-2 hours in the late evening. I spent several hours on Saturday then took Sunday off. This schedule worked really well for me, and let me balance work, family and school.
What are your top tips for other online students?
My top tip would be to stay focused on consistent engagement with your class. I'd avoid doing a lot one day, and then taking a couple days off. It is easier to do a little every day.
My other piece of advice is not to take comments in interactive online forum too personally. I'd encourage students to think about it as a collaboration point, where you get free insight from smart people all over the world.
