Jeannette Delgado-Holdsworth is originally from Nicaragua but now lives in Belgium where she works as a Psychologist and Psychotherapist. She is currently studying an online psychology MSc with the University of Liverpool.What attracted you to studying online with the University of Liverpool for this degree?
The main reason I applied to study with the University of Liverpool was because I believe in continued development as a psychologist, and as a professional in order to be more productive with my clients. Online study appealed hugely as it enabled me to organise my studies around my family and professional life.What are you enjoying about studying online with the University of Liverpool?
I enjoy the diversity of material and being able to discuss it with classmates from all over the world.How are you expanding your international network by studying online?
My international network has certainly grown since beginning my studies. My peers come from many different countries, ranging from the Philippines to Canada, Turkey and so on. I have yet to find another Nicaraguan on the course though! Most are either in business or a psychology related role, so it’s a great opportunity to share ideas and makes connections.What would be your top tip for anyone about to start online studies with the University of Liverpool?
I think the main tip would be ‘be organised’. Having a timetable will help you hugely as it’s a great way to map out deadlines and give yourself enough time to meet them.How useful and relevant is this MSc for your current and potential future roles?
I am hoping to be able to apply the programme into my work with clients. One thing I have already developed is the ability to recognise of all the different biological, psychological and social influencers that have an effect on the psychological well-being of a person.I would recommend the University of Liverpool because...
It is a challenge, but ultimately it is a very interesting and rewarding way of gaining an MSc in Psychology.
