Liverpool – 27 April 2018 – The University of Liverpool is offering two new, fully online computer science programmes to meet the growing demand of the global digital industry. The MSc in Advanced Computer Science and the redesigned MSc in Software Engineering* offer working professionals a competitive advantage in developing and advancing their careers towards more senior and managerial positions in the technology and computer science fields.
“The digital domain is moving at a rapid pace and disrupting the way industries across the globe conduct business. These new online master’s programmes are a direct response to this change and further bolster the University of Liverpool’s reputation for delivering innovative online programmes to today’s working professionals,” said Professor Frans Coenen, Director of Studies for the University’s online computer science programmes. “Focusing on the latest advancements, trends and issues in computer science will prepare students to better address the challenges and opportunities of our time.”
Students on the online programmes will have the ability to study, work and develop solutions in a bespoke cloud environment that mirrors a real-world computer science or IT work environment. This educational platform will allow them to work on different software platforms and conduct simulations as they complete practical tasks to support their professional development, including the creation of a cloud-based portfolio of their work.
These new fully online programmes add to a portfolio of online degrees including master’s degrees in Information Systems Management, Cyber Security and Big Data Analytics, as well as postgraduate awards and certificates, offered online by the University’s Department of Computer Science.
