Supporting online students since 2001

University of Liverpool online students have access to a range of support services developed through the University’s many years of experience as one of the UK’s leading providers of online postgraduate programmes. Our team of faculty members and student support staff understand the needs of online students and are dedicated to help you reach your potential.

Application

From application to your first module

Starting an online degree programme is an exciting step towards personal and professional fulfilment, and we’re here to help you with answers to frequently asked questions, detailed information about the structure and fees for your programme, and personalised advice from an Enrolment Advisor. We’ve developed resources to help you write a strong application, and once you’ve been offered a place, you’ll have access to special webinars for new students, and an Online Induction Course to become familiar with our online learning platform before you begin your studies.

Assistance

Tailored assistance throughout your studies

As an online student, you can be studying from the comfort of your home or from a café but you are not alone. During each module, you’ll be part of an interactive online classroom, communicating almost daily with faculty members and students who can offer advice and encouragement. A team of personal Student Support Managers will be available by email and phone to help with your non-academic questions, and you’ll have access to information and guidance on our student support website.

Academic support is available from your online instructors, from Writing Centre tutors who can help you improve your academic writing skills, and through short online courses on citation, referencing and other study skills. For master’s or doctoral degrees, you’ll have an Advisor or Supervisor for the final research phase. All students have access to the University of Liverpool’s extensive online library.

Graduation and beyond

After you have successfully completed your studies, you can choose to graduate in person, or receive your degree certificate by post. Our Student Support Team will explain what you need to do if you choose to travel to Liverpool to graduate and will be ready to welcome you when you arrive.

To help you prepare for life after graduation, you’ll have access to our Global Career Advisor Network which puts you in touch with global professionals and industry leaders who can provide guidance and coaching for the next step of your career. In addition, as a University of Liverpool graduate you’ll be part of the University of Liverpool’s alumni network, with access to alumni events and networking opportunities around the world.
